Corfu or Kerkyra, especially the Northern Part, is a treasure waiting to be found!
The village of Kassiopi is the perfect selection for your stay and ideal base of your excursions. Our island, nested in old olive trees and greenery, is full of interesting contradictions:
It includes the aristocratic luster of Corfu Town with the small streets (kantounia) and the largest square of the Balkans, but also the picturesque mountainous villages with traditional, coloured country-houses.
The vast, sandy turquise beaches of the South but also the humble, pebbled beaches with emerald waters of the North.
Discover your very own Corfu like we did!
Kassiopi is a charming village on the north-east corner of the island of Corfu, 36 km north of Corfu Town (Kerkyra) and Corfu airport. Kassiopi has the magnificent backdrop of Mount Pantokrator and hills covered with olive groves, vines and citrus plantations. It is a colourful place reached by picturesque coast roads.
There are views out to sea to the Albanian coast. Kassiopi offers a satisfying array of possibilities from lively bar culture to relaxed bathing at the beaches of Kalamionas, Battaria, Pipitos and Kanoni that are within easy reach.
Despite being an established resort, Kassiopi still retains something of its fishing village past and its importance in ancient history. It is ideal for families, young couples and people that would rather have relaxing holidays.
The ruins of the Kassiopi Fortress on the headland overlook the harbour and a small footpath leads you to the castle. The headland is surrounded by beautiful beaches and little coves. The waters all around this area are very safe for swimming.
It was constructed in the Medieval times by the Venetians but it got seriously damaged by the Ottomans, in their effort to conquer the island in the 17th century. Today only some parts of this tower have survived, which are currently being restored. You can visit it all day long admission-free!
Visitors to the Greek Island of Corfu often return year after year and it is easy to see why because the location, climate, beautiful scenery and the welcome you will receive from the local people leaves an everlasting impression!
The village itself offers much to the visitor. Everything is very central, including shops, bars and restaurants of which there are numerous offering many different types of cuisine from Greek and Italian to Mexican. During evenings it is possible to find a nightclub and many lively bars but it is also possible to find much quieter bars to relax
In the village there are several supermarkets catering for all of your daily needs and that of your family.
The local pharmacy, situated on the right hand side of the road just after the main Kassiopi square, stocks most things you may need should any minor illnesses occur during your stay.
